A wire flame spray gun is a type of thermal spray gun that uses a combustion process to melt and atomize metal wire feedstock, which is then deposited onto a substrate to form a coating. The wire is fed into a combustion flame generated by a fuel gas and an oxidant gas mixture, which melts and atomizes the wire into fine droplets. The droplets are propelled towards the substrate by the high velocity of the gas mixture and impact onto the surface, forming a coating.
Wire flame spray guns are commonly used for surface coatings in various industries, such as aerospace, automotive, and marine, as well as for repair and maintenance applications. They can be used with a variety of materials, including metals, alloys, and ceramics, and can produce coatings with a range of thicknesses and properties.
Wire flame spray guns typically require a compressed air or gas supply for the atomization and propelling of the molten droplets. They can also require a preheating process for the substrate to ensure proper adhesion of the coating. Overall, the wire flame spray gun offers a cost-effective and versatile solution for a variety of coating applications.
Types of Wire Flame Spray Gun
This gun was designed for use in an automated, mass-production situation. It can be utilized for extended periods of continuous spraying without compromising coating quality. It's dependable and cost-effective, with as little downtime as possible. A powerful constant-speed motor powers the gun, allowing for precise wire speed control. Because of its powerful variable speed motor, the powerful wire drive system assures a continuous and smooth supply of wire material throughout the coating process. The gun has a speed control regulator added to allow for simple wire speed modification. The cannon includes an external wire feed panel that displays the wire speed. The 5KM gun can be quickly maintained when needed, allowing it to return to production with minimal downtime.
The gun is designed to run quickly, allowing the user to spray the right soft wire material on the substrate efficiently and economically. Because of the wire feed thumb trigger, this gun is suitable for hand-held or start/stop operation. This pistol was made for soft-wire applications and will not spray hard materials like Stainless Steel, Nickel, Bronze, Copper, or other metals. The 11M model can handle minor projects as well as large-area applications. It is capable of spraying soft metalizing wires of Lead, Aluminum Wire, Zinc Wire, Tin, and Babbitt with melting points of 1/8′′ (3.17mm), 5/12′′ (3.97mm), and 3/16′′ (3.97mm) (4.76mm).
A multi-purpose pistol that can be used to coat combustion flames with thermal spray wires, the 12M Wire Flame Spray Gun. The traditional cannon sprays 1/8-inch wire using acetylene as the fuel gas. Other sizes, ranging from 3/16" to 20 gauges, are available with the proper hardware. The 12M Wire Flame Spray Gun can spray wire at speeds ranging from 1.5 feet (457mm) per minute (with standard gears) to more than 45 feet (13,716 mm) per minute (with high-speed gears) (with the special, easily installable, high-speed gear set). The high-speed gear set sprays metals with lower melting points, such as Babbitt, Tin, and Zinc, indefinitely at high speeds. The gun has hand-held, fixed, and mobile applications. The entire system (except the compressor) can be placed on a cart for transportable applications and field repair operations.
This is a small piece of equipment that uses an air turbine to draw wire in, melt it with fuel gas, and then blast the molten particles onto the substrate. The wire feed thumb trigger on this adaptable rifle makes it excellent for hand-held use. The 14M Flame Spray Gun has a universal gas head that may be used with either oxygen/acetylene or oxygen/propane fuel gas. A standard cannon can spray around 1/8′′ wire with acetylene due to the fuel gas. On request, appropriate hardware for all common wire sizes ranging from 3/16′′ to 1/16′′ is available. The controlled speed of a flame spray torch with ordinary gears ranges from about 2 to 15 feet per minute (0.6 - 4.6 m/min) to about 5 to 45 feet per minute (0.6 - 4.6 m/min).
